Select One-on-One Coaching: A Letter from Melanie

Dear You, Who’s Been Sitting with a Question,

Most of my public work focuses on speaking, teaching, and consulting with organizations. But over time, I’ve found that some leaders—especially those who’ve read Beyond Leaning In or participated in one of my courses or workshops—reach out for help with more personal questions:

  • How do I trust what I know in my bones, especially when it runs up against what others expect, what I’ve been conditioned to believe, or when it points toward a harder path?

  • I know I’m in my head—but how do I get to inner clarity when every decision or option feels both right and wrong in different ways?

  • People say “trust your gut” or “listen to your body”—but what does that actually mean in practice? And how does that work in the real world?

I work one-on-one with a small number of leaders who find these questions tugging at them—whether loudly or quietly—and who are looking for a way out of the mental loop. Many of them appreciate that I bring expertise from executive education, organizational consulting, and high-pressure business and leadership contexts—but more than anything, they’re drawn to a different kind of conversation: one that helps them tune into what’s true for them, especially when clarity feels hard to find.

These are personal conversations. I’ll bring frameworks, tools, and ways of thinking that may feel new or unconventional—but ultimately, this work is for people who trust me in a more personal way. That trust might come from from having been in a course or workshop I’ve led—and feeling like something stayed with you beyond the strategic takeaways; from something that landed in a deep and unexpected way while reading my book; from a conversation we’ve had; or from crossing paths in a way that stayed with you. It might also come through a referral—from someone who knows us both well and senses a resonance.

If you feel some spark of recognition here—even if it’s hard to name—you’re warmly invited to reach out. Tell me a little about why you’re seeking one-on-one support and how you found your way here, and I’ll follow up with more details about my approach to see if it speaks to you.

Warmly,
Melanie
